Titan Gaming Buys Xfire

Same old story. Big media overpays for technology without a monetization strategy. Time passes and the technology is sold off for peanuts to a company that has a complementary business model. It will be interesting to see how Titan will use Xfire technology to allow users to communicate with each other over their competition platform. It is also possible Titan may use the service as a customer acquisition vehicle, getting valuable user information to up-sell users to other services. For more information on the deal go to TechCrunch.

Visa’s Rightcliq Launched

Rightcliq
Social Commerce is the new hot thing to lookout for online. Companies are trying to figure out how to take the social experience and apply it to E-commerce. Visa launched a service called Rightcliq, allowing you to make smarter purchases by involving your friends and family in your purchase decisions and providing access to special offers from popular merchants. I am a fan of the concept so I went through the process of signing up and getting involved. Here’s what I found:

Wii Rowing in Wii Water

What makes this so funny is that these two clowns are taking what they are saying very seriously. If you’re using the Wii to get into shape you have to ask yourself, how did it come to this? Then go reach in the back of the drawer and pull out the “use on dumbasses” gun and pull the trigger. I just did you a favor.

Conan Stops by Google Headquarters

Here’s my observation on what I just saw:

  • Conan was incredibly funny. Anyone who enjoys Leno’s brand of comedy should work at Google.
  • The moderator was pointless and thinking he could control the format was laughable and awkward.
  • Assuming that Google employees are intelligent, they sure asked dumb questions.
  • The Lakers suck. Whuuut???
  • Interactive Gaming Garb

How many ways can I say “I want one!”? This Tactical Gaming Vest allows a gamer ‘to feel simulated gunshots, slashing by knives and blood flow from wounds.’

This Lakers Fan Must Be Lakers Fan #1

To be clear I hate the Lakers. I dislike their brand of basketball and the fans are their fans are the worst group of bums. When I saw this little gem pass through my desk, I knew Laker fans would be able to relate to this guy. Fitting that he would be the Laker’s # 1 fan.

    Moving from Blogger to WordPress

I have spent the last couple of weeks moving my blog from Blogger to WordPress since Blogger has decided to stop supporting FTP. I actually like this layout and design much more than the previous version of the site. Some parts of the site are still not functional but I think it’s a good start.

Trentemoller Confirms New Album for May 2010

Trentemoller will release his new album at the end of May entitled Into the Great Wide Yonder. He will release his first single ‘Sycamore Feeling’ in early April though his own label In My Room.

For those of you who don’t know, Trentemoller has remixed artists like Depeche Mode (Wrong), Royksopp (What Else Is There), and Moby (Go) and his album The Last Resort is one of best over the last 10 years.

Massive Attack – Splitting The Atom

This is the official video for Splitting The Atom, from Massive Attack. The music is so easy and melodic you don’t expect how chaotic the visuals get towards the end. Left me stunned with me mouthing WTF to myself. For more info, go to http://heligolandfilms.massiveattack.com. You might even find a porno there.

    Roskilde 2010

Heading back to Roskilde in 2010 to watch Muse do their thing, but this time it will be part of a larger European trip that will include France, Brussels, Germany, Holland, and Norway. Still in the planning stages, but already looking forward to it.
