Trentemoller Confirms New Album for May 2010

Trentemoller will release his new album at the end of May entitled Into the Great Wide Yonder. He will release his first single ‘Sycamore Feeling’ in early April though his own label In My Room.

For those of you who don't know, Trentemoller has remixed artists like Depeche Mode (Wrong), Royksopp (What Else Is There), and Moby (Go) and his album The Last Resort is one of best over the last 10 years.

It will be interesting to see what musical direction Trentemoller will take us with ITGWY. It is rumored that instruments like strings, acoustic guitars and a base mandolin will be used. Sprinkle in his multi layered ambient riffs and hooks and this could end up being another masterpiece.

Massive Attack - Splitting The Atom

This is the official video for Splitting The Atom, from Massive Attack. The music is so easy and melodic you don't expect how chaotic the visuals get towards the end. Left me stunned with me mouthing WTF to myself. For more info, go to http://heligolandfilms.massiveattack.com. You might even find a porno there.

    Roskilde 2010

Heading back to Roskilde in 2010 to watch Muse do their thing, but this time it will be part of a larger European trip that will include France, Brussels, Germany, Holland, and Norway. Still in the planning stages, but already looking forward to it.

    Going to 2009 Roskilde Festival

I wasn't looking too seriously at going to the Roskilde Festival this year until it was announced that Trentemoller would be performing a 2 hour DJ set with his own edits and bootlegs. If that wasn't enough, he has a new album called Harbour Boat Trips - Copenhagen that will be released at the end of June. No doubt he will be playing some of his new material at the festival. In addition Royksopp, Fever Ray, Lulu Rouge, Deadmau5, Mike Sheridan, NIN, Coldplay, Kanye West, Adam Tensta, Oasis and many more will be performing. So I booked a ticket to Copenhagen.

    Modeselektor, Thom Yorke, and Trentemoller

Modeselektor is an electronic music band formed in Berlin, featuring Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary. Modeselektor is reportedly a favorite group of Thom Yorke (Radiohead frontman), who has recommended their albums in interviews and included the song Silikon (from their 2005 LP Hello Mom! and featuring vocalist Sasha Perera) in a publicly available iTunes playlist. The song The White Flash (embedded above) includes vocals from Thom Yorke and this version happens to be remixed by Trentemoller.

    Newer Royksopp Album?

Royksopp is officially releasing their album Junior next month 3/23. The album is awesome and can best be described as complicated pop music. There are plenty of vocals which can be looked at as a negative by some looking for more atmospheric music. But fear not. It is rumored that Royksopp will be releasing an instrumental album called Senior later in 2009.

    Lulu Rouge

It appears that all the music I have been listening to is related in some way. My new obsession is Lulu Rouge, a group made up of DJ T.O.M. and DJ Buda. If you dig the Trentemoller sound, you will absolutely enjoy this album. As a matter of fact, DJ T.O.M has been Trentemøller’s partner for the last 3 years. The Bless You album is almost a year old, but this is a recent find that I will be listening to for a little while.

    Leo's Song

I came across this amazing video with a profound message. When a geometric visitor from another planet becomes your new roommate and shares with you the tragic state of its home world, you drop your guitar and see what you can do.

Adam Tensta ft. Eboi - Dopeboy Video

I have been enjoying Adam Tensta for about a year. Good to see that he is beginning to produce music videos to gain more awareness for his music.

    Morcheeba coming to maniaTV

Morcheeba is coming into the studio this weekend to do an acoustic set for one of our shows. Been listening to their music for a long time so I am pretty stoked. I am thinking about seeing them in concert this weekend so I can catch Federico Aubele and Natalia Clavier do their thing. El Arbol is just a song I can't seem to get out of my head.
